Spiritual practices alongside Covid 19?
"I am, how it all comes together. For it can't be any other way "(Participant). To e mail Merwolh@gmail.com
We were curious about women sharing their spiritual identity in social work in Aotearoa. As Social Workers and in speaking of spirituality we uncovered ways by which we see our work and our selves. Check out the six pages using the subheadings above the title. By listening and also hearing our voice, we reframed how and what both 'we' and 'work' could be, and this in dynamic context of this place and the first people of this land, Maori of iwi and hapu. This work develops with your kindness and guidance. Nga mihi nui kia koutou; with most kind regards to you all.
In the research itself, it was our women participants, both Maori and peoples from later settlers, whom spoke of experiences, knowledges, their sense making. Being able to listen to and support unique relationships to spirituality engendered their wish to listen further to others. The opportunity in the research to speak individually and then together as particiants gave experience which helped scaffold that which was fragmented, for in being together we remembered extensive and deeper legacies of meaning of great value.
The role of spirituality in Supervision, and in ongoing community conversations
- 'In talking, You have released something!' Listen to Tauranga Moana Women of Peace, Carole Spice, Funeral celebrant and Grief walker, Psychologist Dr Paris Williams. More conversations will follow.Speaking of spirituality had significance in bringing dimensions and richness to indivdiuals and in relationships.
I for one, am changed because of these relationships, and through what was shared. To the participants and to you, you are the key that opens the door to your world.
