'What is the meaning of it all?' 'How can I tell you who I am when you don't believe that I am real?'(Bakara, in Hartman 1991). Where is the ground beneath your feet? Your words and finding your story can lead you deeper to your life possibilities and reimaginings; how else can we recognise ourself, understand our past, see a future? "I am, how it all comes together. For it can't be any other way "(Participant). If you would like to explore conversation withmyself as a therapist working with women, please do contact me; e mail Merwolh@live.com. I practice as a social work therapist in The Bay of Plenty engaging with your questions, struggles, safely, gently. I am available by appointment at the Wesley centre Te Papa, Tauranga. We will work with narratives, with arts, engage Indigenous knowledge systems, slowly build on emotional spiritual intelligence. Learning together, you can recognise your meaning, utilise safe support for you as you grow well in your life.
My work also shares a recent research study with women. We were curious about ourselves as women sharing their spiritual identity in social work in Aotearoa. As Social Workers and in speaking of spirituality we uncovered ways by which we see our work and our selves. Check out the next six pages using the subheadings above the title. By listening and also hearing our voice, we reframed how and what both 'we' and 'work' could be, and this in dynamic context of this place and the first people of this land, Maori of iwi and hapu. This work develops with these women's kind guidance. Nga mihi nui kia koutou.
In the research itself, it was our women participants, whom spoke of experiences, knowledges, their sense making. Being able to listen to and support unique relationships to spirituality engendered their wish to listen further to others. The opportunity in the research to speak individually and then together as particiants gave experience which helped scaffold that which was fragmented, for in being together we remembered extensive and deeper legacies of meaning of great value.
See the following pages" Earth, Being here, Silver Moon, Our Voice, and more....There is a role for spirituality in ongoing community conversations.- 'In talking, You have released something!' See Pages 5 , and 6 to listen with Tauranga Moana Women of Peace, Carole Spice, Funeral celebrant and Grief walker, Psychologist Dr Paris Williams. More conversations will follow. Speaking of spirituality had significance in bringing dimensions and richness to indivdiuals and in relationships.
Each of us become the key that opens the door to your world/ our worlds.
